~ Mike Burns

Silver Spring, MD

I build teams and software that make a difference. Drawing from fourteen years of engineering and leadership experience.

Motivations

01 Human-Centered Design

I aspire to build systems that stand the test of time. This requires a deep understanding not only of technology but the people that use it and the ends they’re looking to achieve.

02 Autonomous and Aligned Teams

The best systems emerge from teams that trust each other, grow together, and communicate openly. I cultivate environments that incentivize teams to work together toward a common goal.

03 Pragmatic Solutions

I encourage putting in the time required to craft simple solutions that are adaptable to change without over-engineering. This requires a deep understanding of the problem space and a breadth of experience with tried and true (often boring) solutions.
